 Fertilizer is very important for every type of plant for his healthy growth. A fertilizer or fertilizer is any material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soil or to plant tissues to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Many sources of fertilizer exist, both natural and industrially produced nowadays due to fertilizer plants give a good amount of output like vegetables, flowers, fruits. Fertilizers enhance the growth of plants. This goal is met in two ways, the traditional one being additives that provide nutrients. The second mode by which some fertilizers act is to enhance the effectiveness of the soil by modifying its water retention and aeration. This article, like many on fertilizers, emphasizes the nutritional aspect. plants need nutrients to grow which they absorb from the soil via the plant's root system.

you can see in the above picture how the process is taking place slowly. Any animal dies or any other thing that can get converted into fertilizer in this earthworms plays an important role to convert natural waste into fertilizer. It provides the major nutrients ( nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and important secondary elements ) that plants need. unless the nutrients are replenished, the soil's productive capacity declines with every harvest.

How to make fertilizer

When we cut vegetables or fruits really we do that we trow all waste in the dustbin because of no use but we have to generate fertilizer from waste only :

We have cut all waste things smaller as much as you can after that directly dump into the soil after 2-month fertilizer is ready.

The second thing dumps waste near the plant so that in an easy way the plant will get fertilizer so we will not able to give fertilizer in another way.

Fish sell can be used for fertilizer any living thing is dead we can dump into the soil why? because the soil will absorb all things and ait will c fertilizer will get ready.

Banana sell is used for fertilizer after eating the whole banana keep the waste product and put into any container it contains water to wait for 1 week after that in water all fertilizer will be ready. directly give water to plants.

Types of fertilizer

Nitrogen fertilizer

These fertilizers are the most commonly used straight fertilizers in Europe.

The main products are nitrate-based fertilizers such as ammonium nitrate (AN) and calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN), which are well suited to most European soils and climatic conditions, and urea and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) aqueous solution, which are widely used in other parts of the world.

Inhibitors fertilizer

These are chemical compounds that delay the nitrification of ammonium by suppressing the activity of Nitrosomonas bacteria in the soil. The objective is to preserve the ammonium in its soil-stable form and slow its conversion to nitrate. This temporarily reduces the proportion of nitrate in the soil, and thus the potential for leaching losses into water or the formation of N2O gas in the atmosphere.

Phosphorus fertilizers

This is the most common phosphate fertilizers that are single superphosphate.

Potassium fertilizers

This fertilizer is available in a range of fertilizers that contain potassium only or two or more nutrients and include Potassium chloride, Potassium sulfate.

Micronutrient fertilizers

Nowadays a large number of special fertilizers are available to supply plants with important micronutrients such as iron, manganese, boron, zinc, and copper. These can be either inorganic or organic compounds, with the inorganic varieties further divided into water-soluble and non-soluble products.

Advantages and disadvantages

 

Advantages of fertilizers :

1. It increases crop yield and improves poor quality land.
2. Manure improves soil texture, recycles nitrogen, and introduces essential bacteria.
3. Pasture is improved so animals fatten up quicker.
4. Once marshland is drained, fertilizers can help reclaim that land for pasture
5. Crops grow faster – particularly when hybrid seeds are used.

Disadvantages of using  fertilizers:

1. Crops grow better, but so do weeds. Therefore herbicide sprays are required too.
2. Better quality plants attract insects so pesticides may be needed.
3. Excess nitrogen from fertilizers gets into water supplies, causing fish to die.
4. Chemicals need to be used safely. In poorer countries, in particular, farmers can
   damage their health by applying fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides incorrectly.
5. Artificial fertilizers, applied without organic additions, do not improve soil structure.

 

Farmer friend earthworm

An earthworm is commonly called a farmer's friend as they provide many advantages and services of value for the crops.

• They help in the formation of vermicompost as when they eat, they leave behind castings that are a very valuable type of fertilizer. They cause fragmentation of the dead organic matter.
• They increase the amount of air and water that gets into the soil, facilitating aeration and increasing drainage.
• By fragmentation, they break down organic matter like leaves, grass into simpler materials.
• They bring down organic matter from the top ground levels and mix it with the soil below, increasing nutrient availability.

 

How much fertilizer is useful  for growth of plant?

 

Actually, it depends on the plant how much plant is big as per that we have to give fertilizer. With this less fertilizer plant will not grow fastly but if we give more and more fertilizer than it will affect plants really. because fertilizer is very strong and it contains very very more hit. so as per plant we have to provide fertilizer. for small plants half boul is sufficient and for big plants, 5 kg is sufficient or more it depends on the plant.
